We live in an artistically rich part of Ulster County, New York, and the music is not left out. We have many friendly venues for Folk Music but not many House Concerts, so, I saw an opportunity to fill that lack. My home is well suited to small, intimate audience/artist rapport. If you are unsure of what a house concert is or is like, please watch this YouTube about them. One of our upcoming artists, Mike Agranoff, makes an appearance: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=try-z4-4h04.
I have worked as a volunteer at over 300 festivals over the last twenty years and made friends with many of the performers that will grace my Great Room. One of the jobs I did at festivals was cooking, often for the set-up crew, volunteers in general and performers. As time passed my responsibilities increased till I was often the one in charge, the chef as it were. It is a simple style of cooking but always with quality, fresh ingredients. I bring this to the patrons of our little venue. Come sit at table with fellow lovers/supporters of live music of the folk persuasion. I will always have a choice of a meat or veggie dinner offering properly prepared in their own cookware. Bring your friends and make new ones here. We are working on welcoming people to the house in mid-weeks for pot-luck Jams and/or small Dances. We have had two Jams, so far.
